Purposeful student service

Learn by helping meaningful connection happen.

Students in healthcare, social work, technology, education, and related fields can gain supervised, non-clinical experience while supporting GCCS facility visits.

Guided Technology Facilitation

Assist senior residents during scheduled family video calls and personal device setup sessions under direct GCCS staff supervision.

Intergenerational Connection

Complete verified service hours while building meaningful relationships, communication skills, and confidence working alongside older adults.

Comprehensive Training & Orientation

Complete mandatory non-clinical orientation, privacy-awareness guidance, conduct screening, and resident-engagement protocols before facility placement.

GCCS reviews availability, age, school requirements, service goals, and current program needs.

Orientation & screening

Required training covers non-clinical boundaries, privacy, conduct, technology support, and respectful resident engagement.

Facility approval

Each placement depends on the participating community’s policies, schedule, access rules, and supervision requirements.

Verified hours

GCCS can verify completed program hours; the student’s school determines whether they qualify for credit or another requirement.

Student volunteers are non-clinical community partners. Participation is subject to application review, background verification, facility approval, and completion of GCCS orientation. Volunteers do not provide medical, nursing, or direct personal care services.

GCCS services may depend on third-party hardware, software, power, carrier coverage, cellular signal, network congestion, facility Wi-Fi, and platform availability. Interruptions, bugs, outages, and cellular dead zones may affect performance and scheduling.

Gulf Coast Connection Services (GCCS) is a non-clinical support service. GCCS does not provide medical care, nursing care, clinical advice, emergency services, or medical-device management. GCCS does not request, collect, or store Protected Health Information (PHI).
